Hello , I was just surfing around Sprit River sites and noticed your post. I remember when your Grandad was killed, I was just a young boy , I do not recall the year. We lived in the High School Dormitory in town. A grain field backed on the property and this is where the accident occured. In those days many long hours were put in running the harvesting equipment while the weather cooperated. Ron went to sleep in the empty box of a grain hauling truck.(not soil). When the combine harvester pulled up beside the truck to unload, George Inkin, the operator , never noticed that Ron was in the box and unloaded the grain on top of him.I will never forget this accident as it was such a horrendous occurance to my young mind at the time.
Regards, Dave
