The Master Surname Index (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists these possible names;

*there may be volunteers there. A Volunteer for Edmonton offers Cemetery photo's

Contact the Cemetery Office - they will know the name of the funeral Home in charge of arrangements - they may have taken information for an obituary - or may hold a copy with the files.

Edmonton Public Library - may have newspapers in their collection - may offer search/copy.

Searching for information on Lily Eunice Matthews who lived in Edmonton, Alberta. Wanting to find out her parents names. They were from England.
Lily E. Matthews wrote poems and songwriter in 1947. Music by James Bruce. She had daughter Clarice Blundell Matthews.Clarice married Manly Campbell moved to Vancouver, B.C. and Marge Matthews (she married an Anderson). He was killed in car accident 1950. Marge had sons Billy and Jack.

According to my Alberta index of "Local Histories Listed by Place Names" there is mention of 'Inglis' in two Local History Book.

Inglis was Post Office at section 5-28-3-W5, the same place where William F. RAMSEY had his homestead, some 13 miles north of Cochrane.

Maybe he is mentioned in one of these Local History Books that also includes Cochrane.
Acres and Empires: A History of Municipal District of Rocky View, 1989.
Big Hill Country: Cochrane and area,1977, includes Inglis.
One Days Journey, 1963, includes Inglis.
People and Places by Pearl, 1978.
Taming the Prairie Wool: A history of the Districts, 1965.

I do not see William F. or Lottie RAMSEY in any of the Alberta cemeteries.

As per Stella's e-mail, I looked up the Red Deer, AB. book called Sod Shacks and Wagon Tracks. The William (Bill) Ramsey in there is not the right one for Jan. This Bill Ramsey was born in 1887 in Ontario and came to Alberta in 1906. His wife's name was Grace Johnson and he was a bricklayer.
I have the book, which covers the area NW of Red Deer, if anyone needs a look up at any time.

I am looking for a William F Ramsey(b 1890) & his wife Lottie- son Allen

They came from Ipswich Suffolk England to Canada/USA

There is a William F Ramsey listed as having a homstread in the Inglis Alberta area.

Does anyone have the history book for this town?? It is Northwest of Calgary and north east of Cochrane.

Austin Grimes, machinist, signed up for WW I giving his b.d. as 13 Nov 1876 in NYC. and Mrs. Orpha Grimes (sister) of Newburg, N. D as next of kin. He signed up 15 Dec 1915 in Calgary, Alberta.

I don't know if this is him or not but in Cadillac : prairie heritage pg. 300 it says:
Owen and Austin Grimes came from Langman, Saskatchewan. They purchased the S 1/2 15-6-0-13 and farmed for a few years before they sold their land to Remy Bourtin. They had a pool hall and a Dodge car agency in Ponteix. They returned to Lampman.

That location is at the North West area out side of Calgary.

Their names do not show on the AGS Master Surname Index of cemetery burials.

Looking for any help finding info on Austin or Osten Deazro GRIMES born 1875 in Mina, New York. According to a letter dated April 21, 1926, he was living at Balzac working for a George Church. I think it was a farm or ranch as he was a Barn Manager in the 1910 census.

I will glady take whatever information you have. I have already ordered a book his family was mentioned in. He was one of several family members that came to Canada from England in the 1890's and lived for a while near Kingston Ontario. Several of the brothers settled in Jefferson County in New York, while Jesse and his family headed west.

Looking for decendants of Jesse Barker who was born 28 JAN 1858 in Wickham Skeith, Suffolk, England and died JAN 1917 in Shepard, Alberta. In 1900 Will, Mark, and their father Jesse, filed homestead claims for 160 acres each some 10 miles east of the town known as Calgary and proceeded to put down roots.
