Looking for someone who has the book "Along the Burnt Lake Trail: a History of Shady Nook, Burnt Lake, Centerville, Pine Hill, Marianne, Kuusamo and Evart" published in 1977 by the Burnt Lake History Society. Searching for information on the Johanson's buried in Burnt Creek Cemetery - namely Johan Carl Edward Johanson, his father Sven Johanson, and their families.

Thank you SO much. Michael Dawe will be so pleased. He says he has a photo of a Robert Reidy with a train, so that would be him. Apparently Michael Dawe's great aunt in Red Deer took a shine to great uncle Robert. Things didn't work out (perhaps because he was married???) and she became a nun. HA!! Guess that's the effect we Reidy men have on people.

yes Cameron Michael had 5 brothers 2 sisters
Robert was born 17 sept 1887 gragues kilcornan,pallaskenry limerick
married a lady from Donegal named sara
was a policeman in Creighton Ontario
was killed in a railcar accident 1946
sara born 1887 died in 1957
no children that I know of
both buried in Sudbury park lawn Ontario
he also spent time in castor alberta
lived in red deer for a short time . ive have 99% of the history of the reidy family ill post u my email on facebook

It's Cameron, Ivan. I was trying to find stuff on Grandpa Michael on here and got a temporary account. Perhaps you would know...did Michael Reidy have a brother named Robert that also lived in the Red Deer area? I am ashamed to say my Dad's side of the family didn't talk a lot about themselves, so we got very little history, except from Uncle Ed in Calgary. The Red Deer historian was asking questions on Facebook and I didn't know the answer. Terrible. Any help you can give would be appreciated!

Elizabeth Reidy was my Grandmother. She did not pass in July, 1946. She passed in 1960.

What was your year of birth may i ask?
Have you had any children of your own?

Yes, unfortunately, my father cut all ties to Scunthorpe, probably more so after the death of his (your?) mother Jean.
I've tried tracking him down on the whole internet but he seems to keep himself to himself. I no longer have a contact number or anything. I remember an old address from when i visited him as child. Probably moved on now. Such a shame.

Are you in contact with your siblings and father?

I accidentally came upon your posting . I am a Blaxall descendant and have just begun to get interested in family history.I now live in Australia but was born and grew up in New Zealand. My great great grandfather was Norris Blaxall born in 1835 in Tolleshunt, Darcy, Essex. I don't know when he left the UK but he married Martha Scott in the state of Victoria Australia in 1859. They had 6 children, my great grand father being the 5th by name of Edward Robert Scott Blaxall. The family moved to NZ where the next generation was born. Edward's first born son was Norris so the name goes through the generations.

Ivan 19th May 1937 (june 1937 registered qtr)..Glanford Brigg
Their mother was Florence May Franklin (b1903 Barrow upon Humber - d1979 Scunthorpe,)
Harry and Florence married in 1922 and divorced I believe about 1940
Attached is how Harry's death was reported in Scunthorpe

Hi Diane,
Nice to receive a message regarding my grandfather.
I am not Roma's son, I am the son of Ivan,Roma's brother.She also had a brother called Raymond (both still alive but as to their whereabouts I'm not sure)
i also know there was another daughter to Harry,Doreen who I believe died quite young.
Harry emigrated to Canada before I was born( I was born December 1956), and therefore have no history of Harry.
Anything at all would be welcome as I can then add this to my family tree and share this information with my family here in England.

I'm looking for information on a John Alexander Grant from Nova Scotia. He was married to Mary (MacDonald), and worked among other things as a taxidermist in Red Deer around 1920. Have found some info in Peel's Prairie Provinces.

Specifically looking for info from "The homesteads that nurtured a city: the history of Red Deer, 1880-1905", where there might be some info on a GRANT, John A.

Also looking for death dates or graves for these two, last trace I have is and ad from april 1925 regarding Mrs John A Grant.

Trying to verify that this is my great grand aunt Mary MacDonald from Pictou, Nova Scotia.

Christine's Birthplase from her Birth Certificate was Burnside, Alberta in August of 1915. Norah mary Pennock, her mother's Birthplace is shown on this document as Richmon, Yorks, England.

I have been given a date of marriage of Lily J. M. Boyd to Herbert Lester Greer of Dec 24, 1904 but no place of marriage.
In 1901 and 1906, Lily's parents Samuel Lawson Boyd and Mary Ann McLaren lived in Bowden, Alberta and Lily's mother died in Innisfail on Apr 20, 1908. Would appreciate further information about this marriage. Thank you.

I have sent you a message through Facebook and an email ... after reading a few of the strings it truly looks like we are 2nd cousins ... my mother (Dorothy Bernice Reidy was a first cousin to you Uncle George who lived in Calgary for a number of years. I grew up with his boys Trevor and Terry and actually met Trevor's son for the first time last year. We are coming to Ireland at the end of August (our daughter is attending UL for the Fall semester) and I was really hoping to find out if there is any family still in Ireland and would absolutely love to meet them.
