I am looking for the grave sites of my grandfather and grandmother. They are apparently buried in Pincher Creek. Does anyone know how I could confirm their grave sites?

Hi, you can call the Pincher Creek Town office at
Main Office
Phone: (403) 627-3156
Fax: (403) 627-4784

Town of Pincher Creek
962 St John Ave.
Box 159
Pincher Creek, AB
T0K 1W0

Ask to talk to someone who is in charge of the cemetery. They will be able to tell you where and when your family were buried there. I have family in Pincher and could probably arrange for a photo of the headstones.

Sincerely

Thelma Hartman

Thelma,
I am looking for Frederick and Mary Lindsay. We did phone the Pincher Creek Cemetery and the person my wife spoke to indicated that they did not have a record of my Grand Parents. I beleive the cemetery name is Fairview.

Thanks,

Hi,

do you know what year(s) they died? Did they live in Pincher Creek, Pincher Station, Cowley, Lundbreck, Waterton, or on a farm or ranch around that area? There are graveyards in a lot of these little communities.

I can check the genealogy books at the library if you know when and/or where they may have lived. I can also check the Pincher Creek newspaper archives at the Glenbow for an obit if you know when they may have died.

I am wondering if this may be your grandfather from the 1901 Census - he is listed as single.

Lindsay Frederick W 29 TT ALBERTA Pincher Creek m(3) 4 34

If you have any dates, etc. I will be glad to check out what I can for you.

Sincerely,

Don, I saw your enquiry re: Frederick and Mary Lindsay ...I went to one of the local history books "Prairie Grass to Mountain Pass" and found 2 writeups about them. Have you seen them ?? Would you like copies/ to see them...I could mail them to you or might even try to scan the articles and send them by email. Let me know.

Peg,
I would love to see the articles. I did not get the opportunity to meet my grand father but I did know my grand mother Mary quite well. My sister is very interested in our family history and I'm sure she would like to see the articles.

Thanks,
