Hi
for some reason I had not seen this until now ???

anyway thanks for that info - your grandfather was my grandmothers cousin! We had no idea about this until I started researching the family. Cecil is on the 1891 UK census as a visitor to my great grandmothers Emma Pawson's house in York. He is age 2.
His mother is incorrectly listed as May B jonas - she was Mary. We had no idea we had any 'Rickards' Mary's maiden name. Mary was my great grandmothers sister
Debbie
family out there until recently.

I have info on charles maternal side as his mother was my great grandmothers sister. He would have been my grandmothers cousin.

I have photos of my great grandmother (charles's aunty) and his cousin (my grandmother) and other old photos of people I am not sure who they are.
Do you have any information on Charles maternal side, The Rickards?
His grandmother Frances rickards (hardy) was born in Gabarus in 1832 - 1834 and then married a William rickards in the british army - they lived in Halifax N.S. and moved to England by 1865 where Mary Ann Rickards (Charles mother) was born I am trying to find a definite record for her birth and marriage and her parents. None of my side of this family knew of this canadian connection.

oops to clarify, I am looking for birth and marriage records
for Frances Rickards not Mary.
I dont know what happened to Mary - presume she died if George John Beynon-Jonas emigrated to Canada with his sons?

I have a george wallace beynon jonas listed as being cecils son b in 1920 and died in 1944 - dont know if that is correct? i also have a william patrick who died in 1977.

Rickards was Mary's maiden name. Mary was my great grandmothers sister. have more info if you want?

Hi I am not sure if these are the same Jonas's. My great great grandfather was beynon Jonas married to may Madeline Hammond L'Estrange. I have a marriage certificate from London showing their address and both fathers as gentlemen. Does this ring a bell for you? I can't find anymore info on May, she seemed to have disappeared after Beynon took the boys to Pincher Creek.

Hi Dawn

Im not sure if I have contacted you before as been in touch with other descendants of G J Beynon Jonas. His wife Mary ann Rickards (mother of cecil and charles) was my great grand aunt.
I have some info but am trying to trace what happened to her and why her husband and later mother in law travelled to canada with the two small boys?
