The finding aids and indexes of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists some 13 Mabbott burials, mostly in cemeteries in or around Castor.

These are probably all part of the Mabbott family.

The AGS Research Group of the Edmonton Branch are able to send you the details of these.

Surnames: Mabbott, McBride
Bert Mabbott is named in the book "Roads to Rose Lynn", Volume 1.(ca 1980?)
The J.H. (Bert) Mabbott family came to Crossfield Alberta from Plankinton, South Dakota about 1910, then moved to Youngstown, Alberta in March 1912 with Mr Mabbott's brother-in-law Guy McBride. The homestead was the east half of Section 28, Township 29, W 10, if I have correctly interpreted the reference. The Mabbott family moved to Castor in 1931/2. They had ten children, Verne, Elmer, Grace, Bush, Bernice, Ivan, Herb, Goldie, Leona and Ray. (See reference)

Hi!

Just saw your site for the 1st time.

I am a descendant some of the first settlers of Madison Wisconsin back in 1845. I have quitee a bit of information around here someplace. I believe my great x 5 grandfather was Anthony Mabbott who won the lottery in Wales (ironically the winner won a ticket away from Wales) and packed up 10 kids and his wife and came to "the new world."

Evidently Dublin has a Mabbott street where, reportedly, all the houses of ill repute reside.

I've got a whole folder of this stuff someplace.

I am married, with two children of a previous marriage still resididing in Southern California. I live in Bremerton, WA and work as an editor for the local community college public info office. My wife is a children's librarian.

I also have lineage to the MacGregors of Scotland.

Nice to see a site about US.

Big Love,

Donald Mabbott
