Hi there, I hope this thread is still monitored. I came across this information in my search for my husband's great-grandparents, Peter Hepp and Elizabeth Meier/Meyer. I don't know very much about them except they immigrated from Hungary to Western Canada in 1905. I understand from this thread they were originally German? Where can I find this information or is anyone willing to share? Thanks so much!

Gosensgro8, If you go to Banatbooks.com and click on draft family register you will find a draft of a family book which conains data on the Hepp family in Castor. Peter Hepp came orgionally from Johannisefeld in the Banat via Josefsdorf. Do you have a death date for his wife, Elisabeth Mayer? If you are interested in family history of Germans from the Banat you might consider subscribing to the Banat mailing list at rootsweb. Dave Dreyer

Hi Dave,
Thank you so much! I don't have a death date for Elizabeth just that I know she died after 1916 (as she appears in the 1916 census where she is living in Red Deer, Alberta). I do have a death date for Peter. The Banat Books are a great start!

I live north of Castor and know about the family. Frank (1897-1980) and Elizabeth (1908-1994) are buried in Castor (dates are from their grave marker). In the 1916 census they are living in the Red Deer region, in township and range which describe what is currently north of Castor.
