Hi Vanessa,
Just a thought - I may have missed - the surnames that you are searching for.
It is always important to enter the Surnames of Interest on the Subject line - of the message - could save a number of steps - and time. People respond to surnames. there may be persons at the message board - or the Mail List - who are researching the same family line - or -may have come across the names during their own research.
There may be information - in the Local Family History Books.
Perhaps some family members enlisted

http://automatedgenealogy.com/index.htmlA Public Library -in the area - or in a Larger town - may still have the newspapers - on microfilm in their collection.
The Provincial Archive in Edmonton ????may hold newspapers on microfilm.
Also I believe the Legislative Library ??? in Edmonton
Cheers, Stella
