Funeral Service Held Here for Charles Stevens
Charles James Stevens was born in Lakeview, Michigan on April 16, 1905. He moved to the Winnifred, Alberta district with his parents in 1909 and was raised and educated there. In July, 1923, he was employed with the Canadian Pacific Railway and was a conductor with them at the time of his death. Mr. Stevens was married in 1927 to Miss Mildred Page.
He was a member of the Medicine Hat Lodge No. 2 AF and AM; Assiniboia Chapter No. 3 RAM and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Surviving family include his wife Mildred, one son Charles and two daughters Mrs. Nora Kimberley and Carol, all of Medicine Hat, his father, E.J. Stevens of Whitla, two sisters, Mrs. R.B.Smith of Medicine Hat, Mrs. N. Odney of Lethbridge, and one brother Jesse of Centralia, Ontario.
Rev. G. Agar conducted funeral services from Pattison's Chapel on the Corner on Monday afternoon bringing a comforting message to the bereaved family and friends present. Hymns selected for the service were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide with Me" and the pallbearers were Messrs: Howard Slack, E. Neeman, E. Lawrence, H. Isaacs, R. Smith, and W. Babe. Interment followed in Hilllside Cemetery.

Mrs. Mildred Stevens and family wish to thank their many friends for the many kindnesses, beautiful flowers, and messages of sympathy shown them during their recent sad bereavement.
