Are there any families - in the Lamont, Mundare, Edna/Star,etc are - with a History of Diptheria illness or death - in the family - possibly 1904 - 1908.

The 3 young daughters of my grandparents - do not appear in the 1906 Census for Alberta.
Family settled in the area in 1898.
the daughters born between 1898, 1901 and 1904.
Vital Statistics cannot find a record of their deaths
Surname CHMELYK is often mis spelled, misfiled. mispronounced.

Will be grateful for even a hint.
Thank You.
Cheers, Stella

Hi, Thank you so Very Much - I appreicate your help
The actual surname is CHMELYK - sometimes Chemeluk, Chemluk
Hmelyk, Kmelyk
I know that the youngest girl was born in 1904 - and the children do not appear in the 1906 Census - the reason I have limited to that time line.
Thank you again
Cheers, Stella

Hi, Wonderful -thank you so much- Amazing find.
Makysym and Anna -are connected to my grandfather -we don't know if he is a cousin or a brother.
My mother - and her siblings didn't seem to think that there were any relatives -perhaps forgotten memories.

CHMELEK in the 1901 Census.
The other Chmelyk family was actually spelled CHMELYK
*the surname or the given names -always appear to be mis spelled.
The Cemetery Photo's and indexing - is such a wonderful find.
Out elder cousins - 79, 80, 83 ,85 -are coming into town mid month-they will be very excited to know what you have found -the cemetery photo's -
Don't know why the children cannot be found.
Perhaps they only had wooden crosses -which may have deteriorated over time.
Apparently the girls passed away within days of one another - two are buried in one grave - the other passed away the next day.

Cheers, Stella

Hi - Sorry I really don't have any information about the YUZWAK family - other than finding that my grandmothes niece Mary YUZDA had married Sam YUZWAK in 1916
According to Local History Book Memories of Mundare - they had 8 children - 35 grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren at the time the book was published in 1980
When did your Maria YUZWAK - marry Pawlo CHMILAR?
