DOYLE, Ronald Glen, born April 17, 1935 in Jasper, Alberta, died peacefully at home on Sunday, July 4, 1999, five years after being diagnosed with cancer. He is survived by his loving family: Sheila, wife of 37 years; his sons Aeron, Graeme and Stuart; mother June; brother Larry (Monika); sister Sandra (Lawrence) Bradshaw, and Aunt Dora; cousins, nieces and nephews. Ron graduated from Britannia Secondary School in 1953 and then UBC in 1963 with a MASc (Civil Engineering). He continued on to a successful career as a founder and principle of Cook Pickering & Doyle Ltd. and his many professional achievements include involvement in BC Place, Vancouver Wharves and Delta Port at Robert's Bank. Ron had a lifelong involvement in Boy Scouts as a scout, troop leader, and president of the Capilano District. He was an active member of Kiwanis serving as President of the North Vancouver Club during its 75th anniversary year. As a loving husband, caring father and active member of the community, Ron will be missed by all who came to know and love him. A memorial service will be held at North Lonsdale United Church (3380 Lonsdale Ave.) on Saturday, July 10 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kiwanis Foundation (170 W. 2nd St., North Vancouver, V7M1C4).
