You can purchase this book through the St. Albert , Alberta Museum. There is much information there about the Kwarakwante Family, both his wive's lines. It was a great source of information for me though some info was incorrect. Ie. dates, places etc. i too am a decendant. There are wonderful photos, stories and all of Dr Ann Anderson's books including the children's series meant to teach Cree. Hope you can find the book!

Have you searched for Naturalization Records -?
They may show - name and address - date and place of birth we found the actual village Names of parents including the mothers maiden name.

Looking for information. I am just starting the research.
My father's name was Leslie Edward Courterelle b. Oct 8, 1932 in either Drumheller or Newcastle AB& d Aug 7, 1984 Calgary, AB.
I have also heard the current spelling "Courterelle" might have been different variation on Courtoreille,or Courtereille etc not clear on that point.

Siblings: Phillip Allan(or Allen)Courterelle & Adrienne Courterelle.

My grandfather is Allan (Allen) Courterelle married to Fabiola (nee Larochelle) Courterelle. They resided in Drumheller, AB

Allan Courterelle was b. 1908 and d. in 1990
He was the only son. He had 6 or 7 sisters. His mother's name was Christine or Christina. He worked in the coal mine in the Drumheller area.

Unfortuately my grandmother would not allow contact with my grandfather's side. So the information I have is hearsay from growning up from my mother.

Depending on the time frame have you searched 1901,1906 1911 1916 Census?

Do you know When? Where? Angelique BRUNEAU and Felix SAVARD - married - passed away?

Perhaps family submitted family history/stories to the Local History Book Project in the late 1980's

Hi I have a copy of the Beaverlodge to the Rockies History Book for next two weeks..There is John William Metcalf family and Tom Metcalf family listed in the book..Not sure if this would be your family but it does mention they came from Brandon,Manitoba..If it is & you need pics of headstones I will be in the Grande Prairie,
Beaverlodge area by the end of May..

Looking for the family of Ivan Larsen, who married "Clara" Jennett Rowland (b.August 29,1875 in Washington County Kansas).
The information below was provided by a volunteer.

Ivar Severson Larson - 1884-5 Oct 1939
Clara Larson 1876-16 July 1963
They are buried in Lake Saskatchewan Municipal Cemetery at Wembley in adjacent graves.
Any one remember Clara - she was living in 1963, any children? An obit? Any grave pictures?

I did find out that three brothers migrated to the United States during the middle 1800’s – the early 1900’s. These three brothers were Mike Oszust, Martin Oszust and John Oszust. My Great-grandfather Mike and his son Mike W, settled in Ohio. Martin and his children Matthew, William, John, Anthony, Charles, Paul, Micheal and Stanley migrated to the New York and Pennsylvania areas and Canada. John and his children Barbara and John migrated to the Michigan and Indiana areas.

Still working out and searching other details but would like as much info as possible.

My grandmother was Dorothy Medcalfe (possibly Metcalf or Medcalf or Metcalfe) born on January 1915 and she moved to Pouce Coupe and married my grandfather John Earl Merrick in the 1930's.

I have found her family in the Halcourt area on the 1916 census, but I have had no luck tracking down what happened to her brothers or what her mother's maiden name was.

What was your Grandmothers name? What were the names of her parents ?
Do you have any further information that might help others help you.
Did the family have a farm? Land Grant?
Do you know if anyone in the family - submitted family stories/histories to a Local History Book Project?
Have you searched the 1916 Census - for Alberta for the family -will show all family members living at the same residence.
Have you searched the 1911 Census for Manitoba?

I am looking for anybody who might have some more information on my grandmother's family- she was born in Beaverlodge in 1915 and her family came over from Manitoba in the year or two previous to that, they lived in the Halcourt area until about the 1940s-50s.
