Hello
During a genealogical research I found in Nipissing area (Ontario) the following Marriage whritten in french. My translation is:
The First November of 1869, we the undersigned priest have received the mutual consentement of marriage between Georges Hunter Officer of the HBC on one side and Philomene Mic-Mac daughter of Pierre Mic-Mac, widow of Thomas L'Iroquois on the other side. The witnesses were Leon Montreuil and Mereine Dorion who have not signed with us.
I am very interested with any information about the marriage of Philomene MicMac with Thomas l'Iroquois (Kwarakwentha Callihoo), birth, burial, ancestry of their parents or genealogy. Until now I have not been able to find Thomas' parents or acces to Western Canada Vital records.
My best regards

This is a link to a Callahoo history book. There are bios about Louis Iroquois Callahoo and his descendants named Callihoo. It's very interesting reading about the Iroquois tribe that settled there tho it may not help you. http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=7534 Butch

Hi Marc, This is a link to the Grande Cache history book. Louis Kwarakwante (Callihoo), The Sun Traveler is featured on page 40 and a son Thomas born about 1815 is also mentioned. http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=6244 Do a search in the book and click on the page numbers that show up. The write-up shows several different spellings of his last name. The site is free. Butch
