Re: Comeau Family members
Hi Deb. I have been looking as well. All I have been able to get so far is that Joel Comeau from Digby Nova Scotia is as far back as we can go before the stories about him being the only survivor from a ship wreck end the search. However, I did get a reply from a Jaques Comeau and he did give me the list if siblings belonging to Joel. I am continuing my search and will forward any info that I get if you could do the same, mabe we'll find something.

Re: Comeau Family members
I don't know if I'm part of your family or not. In case it helps, I'll give you what little I know of my own history.:
My grandfather was John D. Comeau from Weymouth Nova Scotia, on Digby neck. He was a Grand Banks fisherman and sometime logger. His sister was Rose Comeau who spent her life in that same town. He imigrated to Boston MA sometime in the late teens or early twenties. One of his sons, my uncle, was named Pete Comeau. He lived his whole life in the Boston area.
We may very well not be related but who knows? I hope some of this helps.
Good luck!
Jack Comeau

Re: Comeau Family members
Would you mind if I inquire from another direction. I'm interested in learning more on this indirect connecting family line. I just started researching this line. Dorothy (Penson) married Pete Comeau, of Grovedale. I am researching the Penson gen in connection to the CRAIGIE line. This is where I come in. I also would apprieciate any information if these names ring a bell. Just another branch.

Re: Comeau Family members
I am Dorthey Comeau's ( Penson ) grand daugther, I do have her childrens info and possibly more info on her husband Pete, but I'll have to look in my packed boxes, it may also be awhile as we are soon to be doing a switch to some new computers so hopefully none of this family info will get lost in the process. Pete was I belive from Digby, Nova Scotia for sure. His real name was Pervin. My mother, Dorthey and Pervin's daugther ( Arline was out there visiting a year ago, so I will try to get more info from her).

Re: Comeau Family members
Dorothy Pensons Parents were Fred Penson and Mabel Craigie. Mabel would be my GGreat Aunt on my Fathers Mothers side. I have done a fair amount of research on the Craigie family. I am now working on the connecting branches. Any help would be appreciated...I don't have much on the Comeau families. You can always reach me through my email address. I look forward to sharing info.

Re: Comeau Family members
It has been awhile since you have posted on this site, I was married to Phil Comeau son of Dorthey and Pete (Pervin) Comeau, I was living in Grovedale at their house for a few months with my son Monte Comeau, you and your mom and dad were also staying there, what I would like to know is where exactly did Pervin Comeau come from ? I was under-the impression that he was from Digby, I also heard the name was spelled Comeaux and he dropped the x. Your mother would remember me, and did you not live in Salmo for awhile? Pervin Comeau was working with the Alberta Forestry when I was there, please let me know if you learn any more on Pervin Comeau Thks Louise
