Surnames: HINES,HALPIN, NOLAN,MARIN, MORROW
Researching my great grandparents AJ and Annie HINES, maiden name MARIN or MORROW; and the HALPIN side, names possibly Joseph and Mae (or May). They had Eileen HINES (my grandmother) plus several sons in 1890's-1900's: John, Ambrose, Pat are 3 names I remember) and aunts surnamed NOLAN. The Halpins had Stephen Joseph (my grandfather) plus several boys and girls, one child was Lawrence and possibly an Ambrose. I don't know anything about how the Halpins came to be in Canada from Ireland, but do know that Stephen was born in the late 1890's in Wisconsin. Any information on either side would be greatly appreciated. E-mail aballog@aol.com

The finding aids and indexes (not online) of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists some 25 HALPIN names, as well as the other names. Many of the Halpin names are burials in cemeteries in the Medicine Hat area.

My father's sister married Harry Hines. Harry had 3 brothers Ambrose, John and Pat. He had one sister Eileen. I am familiar with the Halpin family. I can put you in touch with one of the Halpin girls from Bow Island.

Hi Deb,
My name is Gwen Tranter (nee Ridgedale). My grandfather is John Francis Ridgedale (Jack) and grandmother Pauline Ridgedale. I have been compiling a family tree of the Ridgedale clan, and have seen a couple of your postings regarding Len Ridgedale, George Francis Ridgedale and so on... Seeing as we are cousins I thought I might try to contact you. I am trying to get some more information about the Ridgedale's in England who are related. Hopefully you are still available at this contact point and we can communicate.
