I am so sorry for the late reply. I would like to thank you for the information you have provided me. I have an old Airforce picture from WW2 and i wanted to identify G.A. Dancey in the photo and thanks to you ...i have finaly put a name to a face. Glen was on the same crew has my uncle was D.A. Robinson (Navigator). Again, thank you so very much for the information,

My name is Lise Viau and i have been doing some research on my uncle D.A. Robinson. G.A. Dancey was the Air Bomber on the Lossing crew in Skipton On Swale in England. They were all KIA on March 24/44 coming back from a night raid over Berlin. I do have a picture of the entire crew. If you would like to have a copy, please let me know and i will gladly send you the picture. I am trying to put the names to the faces on the photo and so far, i only had sucess with idientifying 3 (including my uncle, the pilot and one gunner. Hope to hear from you..

There is a book called Fork In the Road by George (khan) I think is his last name. He wrote a great book on the history of folks living on homesteads in the early 1900's from Nanton Alberta

I was actually looking for your great grand father, Justin E Jess EDWARDS, and great grand uncle, Carl Merlyn EDWARDS.

Carl married Martha Louise Mattie LANG and then passed away. She then married Thomas James BARR and she passed away not long after. Thomas James BARR then married Stella Louise BERTSCHY of the line I've been researching.

I have the EDWARDS line back to Francis M. EDWARDS who is your 3 x great grand father.

Unfortunately, the 1911 census is very difficult to read (the ink sort of blotched on a lot of the pages) and there are, as a result, many spelling errors in the transcriptions. I would either go through the images page by page and/or try using the search engine, but with fooling around with different misspellings of the name (based on the basic shapes of letters rather than phonetics; for example, and "E" could easily look like an "F", etc.). Also check to names the "E??????" sometimes inserted by transcribers if they couldn't read the names. I have used this method to find a few of my own successfully.

You might also look into contacting the AFHS directly to see if there is more information on the headstone than what appears on their online index. The society may also have some other resources that could be checked if you submitted a query to them. If the headstone has a specific date of death, you might be able to get the Calgary Public Library or one of the archives at one of the Calgary newspapers to pull an obituary for you. You could also check the High River Times or the Okotoks Western Review.
