Benjamin Smith from Washburn Ont. was my grandmother's grandfather. I have portraits of Benjamin and Margaret. In the book County of a Thousand Lakes there is a excerpt about him. He and Samuael Rider ownd a tug transporting supplies from Ottawa to Kingston to Syracuse. Benjamin eventually became the sole owner of the Maggie May and there is a photo of Captain Benjamin Smith in the book.
