Doreen, don't know if anyone ever replied to this. There was a hospital in Wayne, but that is all the information I have. You can look on facebook under "You grew up in Drumheller, Alberta, if you remember..." .

If you pose your question there, especially to Will Krueger, you might have some luck.

cheers

Hello As far as I know there was a Hospital in Wayne, Alberta as I was born there in 1945. My parents told the story of them having to walk across the river on the train tracks so I am wondering if in April that year there was a flood as I know that Dad had a car.

Hi, Have you obtained your Registrtation of Birth - Long Form Birth Certificate
From Govt of Alberta vital Statistics Registry
The Long form holds far more information than the small certificate that most of us carry - as proof of our births -
It will show some personal Information - including your place of birth - name of Hospital - physician - parents etc. May show how many other children the mother had - how many living - how many still born- how many multiples etc

In those days - mothers were kept in hospital following a birth - for aprox 1 week - sometimes longer - There may be hospital records available - perhaps now transferred to the Archive

City Directory for Wayne Alberta - may show name/s of Taxi companies in the time frame - also names of any hospitals
