The Master Surname Index (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists some 1000s ANDERSON, including 60 William, 10 Hazel names, but none that are in or near Rocky Mountain House.

Hi Stella, I found some more information. Dorothys married name is Wicklund and her husband is called Don. Other names in the family tree are Jessie Rayner and Agnes Wilson, their father was called Edward Halkyard and he was my great grandmas brother.Have you or anyone else reading this any ideas?

Hi Stella, Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately I dont know Dorothys married surname. She originaly came from the Oldham area of Lancashire and moved to Canada when she was in her teens. Her maiden name was Hirst. Parente were Mary(nee Halkyard) and William Hirst. I think Dorothy would be about 80 years old now. I am living in Manchester in Lancashire England and am unsure of what the white pages are. Is it a phone book?

there are a number of books for the McFAUL surname.
These books are from a Local History Book Project - people were requested to submit family histories/stories - many did - others were either unaware - or chose not to. Names of neighbours - family membes are sometimes mentioned in the histories of others - and may appear in the indexes.

Francis Carr KIRBY emigrated from England to Alberta 1910

I am searching for any information about Francis Carr KIRBY who appears both on New York Passenger lists and Canadian Passenger lists indexes as having arrived in NY in April of 1910 aboard the Baltic from Liverpool. (Canadian records list origin of ship as Naples, Italy, but it clearly stopped in Liverpool to take on passengers.) He was born in the 4th quarter of 1889 (probably in October) in Low Woods, Sproxton, Yorkshire, son of Leonard Seth KIRBY and his wife Mary CARR. Sproxton forms part of Helmsley parish in the North Riding of Yorkshire. Any information about him and/or descendants would be very welcome. I have his Kirby ancestry back to 1700 and am happy to share what I have.

In the publication "Albeta Index to Birth, Marriage and Death Registrations prior to 1900" I find a Margaret SMYTH, married 14 Nov 1906 in Calgary. It does not say who she married.There is no Drysdale in the index.

On the Western Homestead Index, on the AGS site, http://abgensoc.ca/ ,
I find John Miller DRYSDALE, in the area of Caroline.

Then on the ArchiviaNet Western Land Grants, http://www.collectionscanada.ca/02/02011102_e.html ,
I find "The Trusts and Guarantee Co Ltd, S SMYTH the late.
Also near Caroline.
To search, you have to type in, Township 36, Range 6, W5.

You can a homestead for Markus KRISTALING on the AGS 1870 - 1930 Alberta Homesteads Records, http://abgensoc.ca/

Also Homesteads for Conrad KUCHER and Clyde Lytle COMSTOCK in in the same area near Stauffer. Clyde Lytle COMSTOCK, 1893 - 12 Oct 1977 is buried in the Red Deer cemetery.

You can find the surnames of those families who raised/adopted them, on the online phone at Red Deer, http://www.canada411.ca/

All or many Alberta Papers are archived at the Alberta Government Legislature Library. They have an index of which papers carry news of neighboring towns. So they can tell you which newspapers in 1909, but they do not do the research.

Dear Min,

I don't know how to find that information, except to see if you can locate his death reg'n - you might get it from the provincial vital stats, and then can locate an obituary. The other, of course, is whether or not you can be successful in finding any of the Warden offspring who might know. However, I think it's doubtful because Mrs. Warden's only surviving child (Roy) was born in 1899 and she doesn't marry Jack Shaw until 1934 and then dies in 1946, after Jack who died 1946. There' no mention in this bio of any Shaw step-children to the Warden's- who would be about 10 or younger - who need to be taken care off.

My grandmother was Barbara's sister, Johanna. I never knew her, nor my mother -- because I was adopted shortly after I was born. Ironically, my name is also Barbara. I would really like to know more about my great-aunt Barbara.

Looking for any info or leads on the wife of my Great Grandfather's brother, she was born 23 April 1879 I think in Valvasone Italy and Died 29 May 1976, her husband Amadio Avoledo is buried in the Cemetery in Nordegg, he died 14 January 1946, any information would be great, I cannot find them on Ellis Island, Castle Garden or Pier 21 sites, I have no idea when they came here to Canada but am guessing it was in the early 1920's with his brothers. There seems to be no record of them at Nordegg but I guess the records were bad. Thanks. Kevin.

I just took another look at Libraries Canada and found these names Francesco and Ernesta are were my Grandmothers cousins but the Maria name was not there mothers it was Luigia, maybe Maria was a middle name? Any suggestions?

I am trying to find my paternal grandmother, Margaret Frances Ridley [Smyth] Drysdale, her mother Jane Smyth and family I think they lived in Caroline, and would like to find any information on them. Also the marriage of Margaret to John Millar Drysdale, their only living child told me that they were married in Alberta where exactly we do not know but think it would have been Calgary as three of their 5 children were born there. Margaret born in Ireland, came to Canada sometime in 1906 as reported on her death certificate.
