I'm looking for my maternal great-grandmother, Theresia Christoling (spelling might be Christolling or Kristalnig). She was married to Marcus Christoling and they came from Germany in about 1907 or 1908. They had 7 children with them, then Theresia died in childbirth in about 1909. She is buried somewhere in the Stauffer/Butte area. The Christoling children were all sent to separate families to be raised, and lost touch with each other. We are still searching for those lost relatives. . . some possible surnames of the families who adopted them are: Kirk; Laybourne; Comstock (in Red Deer); Simpson (in Innisfail); Kuchler (in Red Deer). Anyone know about these families? Was there a newspaper from 1909 in the Stauffer area that might have mentioned Theresia's death and the adoptions of all the children?

Hello,
The information you are looking for, I have some. My Grandmothers name was Saphina Ichlor., Her mother was Theresia Krystolin from Germany, she had remarried as her first husband raced penny farthings in the alps and he had passed away, she then married Marcus. She was taken from red Deer Alberta Canada by George and Ruth Magarry who were there to homestead. when the children's mother passed away and the father did not return. Uncle Marcus Christolin came to visit her a few times. Sephina (Stephina , Bertha) married Laton Riley Kirk and had 5 Children. Layton, Barbra June (died as a baby), Doloris, Patsy, and laton. All have passed away except for my mother Patsy who is 80 and she has many stories of her mother early life in Canada. We have images of Stephina but non of the rest of the family. Here is some of her information on find a grave.

I would like to have any information you have as well as I am trying to get this for my mother who always wanted to know more. She is blind and is unable to do this herself.
Thank you Theresa Compton
