I have a bit of info on this surname. Scrip records on Joseph Ladouceur Sr [c.1780-18??] and Josephte Lapierre show three children - Augustin b.1817, Basile b.1835 and Marguerite b.1839. The Joseph Ladouceur [c.1819-?] Jr's mother is shown as Josephte Cardinal [c.1800-?]. She was born at Lac la Biche to Joseph Cardinal and Lisette ?

I am wondering if there is any Ladouceur families that have these people as thier ancestors? My g-g-g grandfather Joseph Ladouceur came west and he had a country wife here by the name Josephte Cardinal. However, he retired to Red River and left his wife here with four children namesbeing: Louise who maried Beaudry; Catherine who married Bruneau; Charlotte who married Quintal; Charles (not much known about him) Joseph married Julie Auger;. Josephte Cardinal married Joseph Desjarlais after her first country husband Joseph left here and had many more children from him. I am thinking maybe the Joseph who is married to Josephte St Pierre is the same person. No death records here in the west for this person either. Any help please.

Hi Again Gary,
There appears to be one son in the 1911 Census.
Perhaps check online white pages directory 411.ca
for the surname? In Alberta - as well Nationwide.

Contact the Cemetery - where Edgar is buried. They will know the name of the Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The funeral home may take information required for the registration of death. They may also take information if an obituary was to be published.**they also take other information not required for the registration or Obituary.
eg.who arranged funeral, names of family members etc.
Cheers & Good Luck,
Stella

It just occurred to me that the sale of the tubs of butter may represent commercial transactions. It is known that the father of William Lorenz was a merchant with a store, however, I didn't know one way or the other that he sold butter.

I'm advised the writing inside the front cover of the old Bible may or may not be in French or just is plain undecipherable. The writing inside the back is definately in English though.

More later when I get sent copies of the inside covers from this Bible.

Hi., The daughter has located the Bible. She informs me it was published in 1854 by Societe Biblique Americaine titled La Sainte Bible Qui Contient Le Vieux Et Le Nouveau Testament Reveu Sur Les Originaux Par David Martin, Ministre Du Saint Evangile a Utrecht Etablie en MDCCXVI

It has some writing on the inside of the front cover and inside of the back cover which is largely undecipherable to her although appears to be some names and birthdates, including that of William Lorenz's in 1910. There are references to transactions written in on the back cover with dates in English such as "May 29, Sold 1 ten pound tub butter @ 10cts per pound = 1.00" etc. Significance or who wrote this is unknown. I suspect it wasn't Napoleon as I speculate he and family was not able to read or write...however I have no proof of that except that there is several variations of the spelling of the surname Larance or Larence recorded as being used.

This Bible I understand is in poor condition with water(?) and age damage. Some of the writing is faded or partially faded away. Advised leather (?) covers there but back one is torn away.

Bible was apparently given to or taken by it's present owner from William Lorenz. Owner largely doesn't have any interest in this matter.

BTW: photos of Canadian Metis script seem to indicate family resided in USA.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Bill

Hi, Obtain the Genealogical Registration of Birth - from the Govt of Alberta Vital Statistics Registry Offices.

This will have all of the information required at the time.
Including the names of the parents - and the childs name.
The Registration will cost in the $40 Cndn range

Not everyone uses the name that their parents chose for them, for whatever reason. Perhaps we dont like the chosen name - or don't feel connected to it. all legal. Some change their given names because they feel disconnected to family.so many reasons.

Note: Birth Certificate - is an extract of basic information taken from the Registration of Birth.
Depending on the requirements of the time - there will be more personal information about the birth mother, her marital status. other children born or stillborn -etc.

Cheers, Stella
Re: Reid Hudson

Thank you, Stella. I have contacted Provincial Records and the Vital Statistics department thanks to your recommendations.

My dad never used the name my grandmother had put on his birth certificate because ... long story... my grandfather didn't like it. G'pa was not there when Dad was born. When he heard what my g'mother had named him, the story goes, Grandpa's response was "No child of mine is going to be named Claude Rollins [they misspelled my grandmother's and my dad's name on the certificate, spelling it "Rawlins"]. And so he changed it to Reid Lamar Hudson.

Reid Hudson

I am looking for some sort of legal confirmation of the birth of my father, Reid Lamar Hudson, in Cardston, Alberta on December 30, 1927. The problem I am having is that he was named Claude Rawlins Hudson on his birth certificate (of which I have a copy) but he never used that name. His parents were Clara Rollins (shows "Rawlins" on my dad's BC) and LeRoy ("Roy") Hudson. I am trying to find legal confirmation that Claude Rawlins and Reid Lamar were one and the same. The hospital in which he was born no longer exists, I understand. Any help would be appreciated.

Brewerton/McPherson

I'm looking for information on Barbara Brewerton who was the daughter of Gordon S. Brewerton. They ran the Mayfair Theatre in Cardston.

Barbara married a Eugene L. McPherson son of the Hon. O.L. McPherson in 1943. They returned for Christmas in 1946 with a son. I'm trying to find out what happened to Barbara and her son. In 1956 Eugene remarried. Right now I'm trying to reunite family. Does any one know what happened to her and her son? Any type of info would be appreciated.

Her parents made trips to Utah to visit other family. And I believe her and Eugene lived in Vancouver in 1947.
Thank You all for your help
Velynda
