The first of my ancestors to emigrate from Staffordshire to Canada were Jennie and Harry E LINTON in 1927 and their son(s). Jennie was the daughter of my grandmother's second husband, Albert MILWARD. Their son, Walter E, later married my mother's niece Doris ALLERTON in 1944 in Fenton, Stoke on Trent, Staffs and they too emigrated to Calgary. I found an old letter to my mother (now sadly deceased) from Jennie which mentioned me so was sent later than 1944/45 and it details two daughters buying her a bedroom suite, so they must be old enough to work. It gave an address of 206-34 Ave S.E., Calgary. I have no other details for Doris' family except on on-line I found a monumental inscription for a Walter E Linton in Queens Park 1921 - 1982 but no one else.

I just don't know where to start with this part of my research. Here we have 1837on-line.com which gives BMDs up to date. Is there a similar service for Calgary? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
