Re: Obituary request in Calgary
Hi, Not related, but I think the informant's name says BOZMAN. Do you know if Hilda's maiden name was TAUBER? Was she previously married to a Samuel BOZMAN who died 30 Apr 1950 in Vancouver? Samuel BOZMAN death registation, wife Hilda TAUBER. http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/images/getimag...Attached - W BOZMAN ?? signature of informant, son of Hilda EVANS on her death registration.

Re: Obituary request in Calgary
Thank you for your reply. BOZMAN is the signature on Hilda Evans' death certificate which you must have access to. Thank you for clarifying the name! Unfortunately, I only know that she was married to Norman Wesley Evans. He had been married to Sarah Fisher Roy, and Sarah/"Sadie" died 23 Apr 1948, in Vancouver, so I knew it was a second marriage for Norman. Apparently Mr. Bozman was a son from her first marriage. Hilda's death cert. states that she was born in Justinoff, Poland in April 1903, and parents names were unknown, but both parents were also born in Poland. Perhaps the Informant was uninformed because the death certificate of Samuel Tauber states they were born in Ireland. I cannot find a marriage date c1952 for Hilda and Norman on Ancestry, but perhaps that would give her maiden surname. I thought her obituary might also indicate her first marriage and surviving children. The Calgary Public Library sent me two newspaper articles which mentioned an inquest into the death of Hilda. I can't say enough wonderful things about that library for they went "beyond the call of duty" in sending me documents, etc., and other websites to contact. I volunteer at a historical society library as research chm. and greatly appreciate Calgary's help, and you as well. Thank you very much!

Re: Obituary request in Calgary
I could not find an online obituary, however, one year after her death, Joan and * Wally * put an "in memoriam" in The Vancouver Sun. There is a tree on Rootsweb that may help you (not saying it's correct, so do your own research and confirm the information). Children of Maria OHLKE and Johann TAUBER are: xi. Hilda TAUBER was born 1900 in Poland, and died Sep 1962. She married Sam BOZMAN. He was born ABT 1900 in Poland. http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=AHN&d...

Re: Obituary request in Calgary
You have been an amazing help.....thank you SO MUCH!! Sounds like you have found a match to Hilda. If I can ever return the favor, please let me know. However, I live in the state of Iowa, USA, so it's probably a long shot that you'll need my help. You are greatly appreciated! :) Carol

Re: Obituary request in Calgary
Hi Carol, You could try posting a request for Hilda's obituary on the BC > General board. There is a nice lady Judy who often goes to the library or University for obits. There should also be an account of the accident the day after in the newspaper. Let them know what information you already have (eg death records). For privacy reasons, it is doubtful you will find a Canadian marriage that "recent" on Ancestry or any of the provinces in Canada. BC Archives has marriages 1872-1936, and this is one of the best provinces for online BMD records. http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-37C15EE/gbsearch/Birth...The contact "Jackie" on the RW tree is a Canadian email address. Thanks for the Iowa offer, you never know!

You are a true GENEALOGIST who loves to help other people. What a wealth of information you have given to me. I am so thankful to have found you!! I am new to Canadian research, even though I've been researching for many years. I have been in touch with many of the family members of the Evans/Roy families which are a branch of my McAnsh/Forsyth line. I also have a Foryth Family Tree on Ancestry to help others. Thank you once again for ALL your suggestions. You have made my MONTH!

Re: Obituary request in Calgary
Thank you for your reply. Oh, how I wish I had heard from you a couple of years ago. Since posting my message about Hilda, I was able to obtain a newspaper article that was published about the probe into Hilda's death in the Calgary Herald, Oct 1, 1962. If you are interested, I'd be happy to send you the text from that article. Later I heard from a Bob Clark who was returning from Calgary to Kamloops, B.C. with his father and they came across the accident. He explained how his father attempted to rescue Helen from her car. I was trying to find information about Hilda because I was going to self-publish a family history which I accomplished last September. If you need/wish further information about your grandmother's parents, I might be able to help you with that. Thank you for contacting me. Carol
