In a family history book, it is mentioned that the family story was that A. McArthur, born in 1854 in Pakenham Ontario was buried near Banff. I have found nothing to support this. Any ideas?

Hi, Is there any indication in the book - as to when Arthur McARTHUR passed away - buried near Banff Alberta?
Perhaps others mentioned in this book or other book -may also have reference to Arthur McARTHUR

The Alberta Genealogical Society - may be able to assist.

Provincial Archive in Edmonton- may be able to assist, advise.

Cheers & Good Luck

The only clues that I have are that I think I have located him on the 1891 census as living in Alberta and his mother's obituary in 1907 states that he had "died out west some time ago". He had a son born in 1885. My best guess at this time is that he must have died between 1885 and 1907.

Regarding the 'family history book', do you have any other information about this book? I am pretty sure the same mentioned man 'Arthur McArthur' is my paternal great-great grandfather.

Arthur's son -> Xavier James McArthur (aka Frances James McArthur or XJ McArthur) had a son named Gordon McArthur in 1915. Gordon then had a son in 1945 named Collin McArthur, my father.

Hi Naomi,

I am not good with a computer and may never find this sight again, but if you email me at peewee42951@gmail.com I can give you all the information I have on your family tree going back to Chief Pheasant Rump. I was corresponding with Arthur McArthur's family in Pakenham, Ontario but the lady I was corresponding with has died and I have not been in touch with the rest of the family for some time now.
