I believe that George Gullion & Marguarite Brazeau were my great, great grandparents. Frank Gullion was their son who married Adele Nipshank. My grandfather was their son, Fred Gullion who married Caroline Yaromy in 1935. They lived in Athabasca for many, many years and moved to Edmonton in the 60's. Fred & Caroline had 5 kids and many, many grandchildren & great grandchildren! Both Fred & Caroline have passed away.

Hi - I'm looking for information about Frederick STANTON and Eveline SHOWELL STANTON (b. circa 1890, Birmingham). They lived in Athabasca at the time of the 1916 census, and Eveline died there before Frederick and their son, Ronald STANTON returned to Ontario. If anyone can help with information about Eveline's death (date, cemetery location, etc.) that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, My Great Grandmother Eleanora Cameron McKinlay is your James McKinlay's (Married Elizabeth Brown-daughter of Magnus) sister. I have a photo of Eleanora and a list of the other siblings, plus their ancestors (James McKinlay and Elenora Cameron - Buried at St. Brides in Callander, Perthsire, Scotland. The line is decended from Robert the Bruce through the Buchanans. John McKinlay (b.1720) Married Katherine Buchanan b. 1725.

Hi Im looking for Louis Cardinals obituary. He passed away in 1971, I was told the RCMP had taped his life story a year before this. There is a good picture of his wife in Prince Wales museum in Yellowknife and other articles. I have a story about Louis that was published in the up here magazine years ago.

Olive was known by the name Gail Etter and she did live most of her life in Victoria. I am not sure about Milton Street. What year would that have been?

I am not positive about the all of the names, but these names Quashnick & Nicholas are in my family history. My mom used to talk about a grandma Beek or at least that's what I thought it was. I will have to call my mom tomorrow (it's late here already) to find out about Louise, because it just so happens my gggrandmother dies in 1954 at 100 years old. It has to be more than a coincidence. The family may be listed in a City Directory/ eg
Henderson/ Wigleys - Criss Cross Directory
show name to address - address to name
May show names of all persons at an address - occupation.
Woman may not be shown -

Do you have any other family names/ names connected to the family?
They may have submitted family stories/histories to the Local History book project.

In the early 1940's we had the National Registration of All Canadians over the age of 16 years. This information is available - the cost at one time $48.15
Returned if nothing found.

Oliver remarried in 1920 in England and also brought new bride Emily to Athabasca area. She most likely came with 2 children from a previous marriage. Lena and Douglas. Searched 1911 Census for Canada - There were 33 GANTER in Canada. British Columbia 2, New Brunswick 19, Ontario 12.

Perhaps a Search of the 1916 Census would find the family in Alberta.

Hi Debra - I'm coming on the scene as the daughter of a descendant of the Bella Brown line - my father is the son of Louise McKinlay and Judson Slye. Louise is the daughter of Bella Brown (Jr) and James McKinlay.

I would like to populate my father's tree as much as possible. Unfortunately he was (for reasons unknown to me) adopted by a family in Saskatchewan when he was a baby and grew up as an only child, never knowing his strong roots in Northern Alberta nor his heritage. I have photos and references to a few children, one says "little sister" and the name Marie Grace Wilson, another name Evelyn Grace Hawkins. Not sure if these names come up in your tree.

I look forward to hearing from you if you have a moment.

All Deaths - that occur in a Province - are required to be Registered in the Province -
Obtaining same - may be a help/
Registration of Death - Long Form Death Certificate - holds all personal information required at the time ** as known to the Informant -[informant may hold back some info ]\

Check with Chief Coroners Office . There may have been an Inquiry -Autopsy - they may be able to search the aprox. timeframe - and hopefully by name.

Now that you have posted - it is still quite possible that there may be someone on this message board - who may be able to assist.

yes i talked to my today to see if maybe i could get anymore information but again nothing...all she knows is that they lived in Athabasca the reason i cant find anything about my dad or probably wont ever find anything is i guess my mom says their family is like their own closed community. she didnt know my dad died until a friend told her an she says there was no obituaries or posts or newspaper clips anywhere which is even more weird.
i dont know how to look now specially if they live a private life...

Now that you are over 21 - perhaps asking your mother - again for information. I know it may be difficult.for her as well for you. but something that may need to talked about.Secrets in a family are not good. They build a barrier.

well my father was born in the year 1967 in Calgary,AB

i dont know when he passed away it was a year maybe after i was born because i do have a picture of him holding me when i was a baby and i was born in the year 1987. all i know about him that my mom told me was that he had alot of problems so he ended his own life. thats all she told me she never told me about my dad side of the family she didnt tell me where he was burried or where he even died.
years passed and my dads sister Sherry Nielsen contacted me she told me she lived in Athabasca she gave me her information but when i moved out of my moms i lost her contact number and information.
So all i have to go on is the information that my mom had in my baby book which is where i get the names of my grandparents and great grandparents ive tried to look for Obituaries anything news paper clips but ive found nothing of my dad i thought that having his birthday an birthplace would be great help in finding him but nothing not a thing...All i know is that they lived or maybe still living in Athabasca but my aunty could have gotten married so if thats the case then the last name Nielsen wont help me in finding her.

but thank you for answering to my post :-) i wish i had all those answers but i dont which makes it harder for me.
