Hi, My Great Grandmother Eleanora Cameron McKinlay is your James McKinlay's (Married Elizabeth Brown-daughter of Magnus) sister. I have a photo of Eleanora and a list of the other siblings, plus their ancestors (James McKinlay and Elenora Cameron - Buried at St. Brides in Callander, Perthsire, Scotland. The line is decended from Robert the Bruce through the Buchanans. John McKinlay (b.1720) Married Katherine Buchanan b. 1725.

James McKinlay was my Great Uncle. His Sister my Great Grandmother was Eleanora Cameron McKinlay. Eleanora married Thomas Grady, my Grandmother Eleanora's daughter, married Vincent Casey and his descendants can be found easily on line. James McKinlay is a descendant of Robert the Bruce (Scotland) and so are we:) There is great and rich history with this family such as James' Uncle Archibald who was the chief factor at Fort Nez Perce in the Oregon Territory. He retired near Kamloops and he was married to a native girl by the surname of Ogden. (I think Sarah).

Do you have any information on Thomas Grady. I have been unable to go any farther back on that side. My great grandmother was Lucy Ellenora Grady. I am from the Yukon side.

Dear Jan: You may not be reading this anymore but, I will give this a try. James McKinlay was my Great Uncle, my G. Grandmother's brother. I have never met any of these relatives and would like to some day. I live in Vermilion, Ab. Our GG Uncle Archie McKinlay was also employed by the HBCo he was chief factor at Fort Nez Perce (later Fort Walla Walla). There is so much wonderful history around these families.
Sincerely, M. Moore

There is no information anywhere that I can find for Thomas except I do have his marriage certificate to Eleanora Cameron McKinlay. Are you related to Gwen Coppock? Contact me and I will send you a copy of that marriage cert. There is a record of Thomas sailing from Ireland to Liverpool at the age of 20.
