I am writing on behalf of Jeanette
Smith - who is looking for her long-lost mother and sister. Her mother’s name is Helena Florence
Smith, daughter of Mrs. F. K. Smith. Her sister’s name is Maureen
Smith. Helena Florence
Smith worked in the army canteen at Camp
Aldershot during WWII. She met and fell in love with
Romeo “Butch”
Lauzon who was a Canadian soldier. Helena got pregnant and had Jeanette on Jan 30/46 in
Surrey South-Western sub district of
Guildford Rural West County,
UKK. Last known address in 1946-47 for Helena, Maureen and Jeanette: 12
Wyke Ave., Ash,
Surrey,
UKK.
On Aug 2/47, when Helena was 20 yrs old and her daughters were aged approx 3 years old (Maureen) and 18 months, (Jeanette), they sailed from Southampton on the S.S. Aquitania to Halifax,
Nova Scotia, Canada and then on to
Cornwall, Ontario where
Romeo lived. Here, due to circumstances that Jeanette knows nothing about, her mother left her with her birth father
Romeo Lauzon and his parents
Isidore and Clara. They stayed about 2 weeks and then Helena and Maureen went back to the
UK and Jeanette never heard anything again. Her father’s family would not talk about it and now they can’t as they have passed on. Jeanette is quite anxious to find her mother and her sister.
If you know of Helena or Maureen, then I really would appreciate hearing from you.My e-mail address is:
g.vout@3web.net. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
