Dear Graham,
That was a brilliant reply. Thanks very much. No I am not related to this Charles Blunt who was Consul in Smyrna. I have been contacted by a gentleman from Ecuador about his great grandmother - Mary Louisa Blunt who I have shown was the daughter of this Consul. He heard I was researching Blunt and wondered if I knew anything about his 1xggm's family. I didn't but has proved a fascinating journey.
The Lydia Maria you mention was the sister of the Consul. I haven't got his dates but he was certainly in post in 1822 and 1864. So he seems to have served a long time. Is this possible ? His parents lived in London - and if I have thr right ones were John Richard Blunt and Lydia Goff.
Thanks for your help.
Cyril
