My husbands' Grandfather, Ioannes Georgepoulos was born in Smyrna Turkey(1892)
but his naturalization papers say he was born to Greek parents and has Greek citizenship through his father. He left Smyrna before 1915.

My question is- since Smyna was under the Ottoman Empire at the time of his birth, how do I go about getting his birth certificate? I don't speak the language and I'm not even sure if the record would have been recorded somewhere in Greece due to his fathers' Greek citizenship. (I don't know the names of his parents, or anything about them). Any ideas? Help please! Thank you.
