Working on a book about my family, trying to set up the family tree in as much detail as possible. They left Haifa in 1946, settled in Beirut (which is where they took the name Rizkallah). Right now, we're scattered all over the place: Israel, Austria, Greece, Brazil, Canada, etc. etc.

The parents were Abido and Bethia Rizkallah. They had six children: Rose, Mary, Wedad, Elias, Rizk, and Yousef. If you remember them or are related, please post!

i am the grand daughter of the late Yousef Rizkallah. He had sisters that I know of one was Matilda and I believe there was a Wedad but I'm not sure about the others. My fathers name is Elias. My grandfather was married to Latifa Basila. Let me know if these are the people you are looking for. He was living in Safamir at the time and my grandma is Lebanese. They later moved to Haifa and after 1946 they moved to the U.S. to Chicago.

It's possible there's a connection. I know we had family in Chicago because we visited them something like 30 years ago. I don't remember any of the names except for a boy about my age named Omar. Have you any relatives with that name?

No we don't have an Omar. We have Elias, Ibrahim, Maurice, etc. These would be sons of Yousef and Latifa. We are a Christian family that is Lebanese and Palestinian. My grandpa Yousef was Palistianian and My gradma was Lebanese.

Well, my grandfather had only sisters, as far as I know, but he also had uncles. There may be a connection there. My family is also Christian; my grandmother was from Lebanon.

The differences lie in the names. The Yousef I have on my tree is my uncle, and he lives in Vienna now. Elias was my father (and I don't think we're long lost siblings ;)).

Okay. I guess for the moment we aren't related. Though the Rizkallah's aren't too many. i know there are other Rizkallah's living in California but I'm not sure about the relation. thanks for writing anyway.

My grandfather was the only son also. I wonder if your father was the one that visited us in Chicago 30 years ago. His name was Elias , like my dad's, and he had come from Vienna II believe. He had attended my cousins wedding with us and I have a picture of him then. He had a beatles type hairdo, with bangs and his hair was a little longer. and he had a mole on his face. i was about 18 at the time and he looked to be in his early twenties.

No, that wasn't my dad. He was balding, very thin. Had an American wife.

Rizkallah is actually a fairly common name, believe it or not. My family adopted it in 1946, when they went to Lebanon.
