My father in laws mother & father, Joseph Michael Simon b. 1870 & Mary Simon b.1884, came from (Saida) Syria to America in late 1890's. They settled in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. In the 1920 census they lived at 193 Gallatin Ave. George age 18. Anna age 16, William age 9,Julia age 3, Catherine age 2, Mitchell age 3 mos..
The 1930 census at 203 North Gallatin Ave, Simon's Bakery (might still exist). Kids still living at home were William age 19, Julia age 14, Catherine age 12, Mitchell age 9 and Harry age 8 (my father in law). All children were born in PA.
I believe George moved to Ohio, possibly Cuyahoga.
I heard Joseph may have had a brother in Uniontown at some time. I'll use the lead of Detroit to research further.
Thank you,
Dee Simon
