My grandfather Assad Faddoul emigrated to Alexandria, Egypt from Lebanon possibly in the 1920s with his wife Marie. My mother thinks his home town was Becfaya, Mt Lebanon and that he recorded the names of all his children in the Greek Orthodox Church there. He died in Alexandria during WWII and my mum then moved to England and is now the last of his surviving children. She would love to know more about her Lebanese ancestors. Her mother Marie also had two brothers who were in the Free French Army during the war. I have researched my English father's family but am not sure how best to proceed with my mum's, so if anyone has any information or ideas, I'd be very grateful.
