Classification: Query
Surnames: [Dates: Around 1890 to 1949]
I am a graduate student in History at Clemson University
in South Carolina. I am writing my thesis on
the families that came from Lebanon and arrived in
South Carolina before about 1949. I have been doing
research for my thesis since January and have
accumulated quite a bit of material, but still have
some questions -- and might be able to provide
some answers.
I do not have any Lebanese heritage, but I have been
doing family history since 1984 and became interested
in the Lebanese community in South Carolina after
finding out that my part of South Carolina has a large
Arab-American Catholic community. (I am a convert
to Catholicism and occasionally attend Maronite
Mass.)
I am aware that there are many Lebanese descendants
here in South Carolina who are Protestant, and I would
like to hear from you, too.
Thank you for your time.
