I am trying to do some research on my husband's family. There's not a lot of information available for the period before WWII. There's a family story about an "Uncle Philip Blumenfeld" (My father-in-law's great-uncle) who remained in Romania during WII and helped a number of Jewish children. Later, he moved to Israel, where he died.
There is a record of a testimony at the Strochlitz Institute for Holocaust Research at the University of Haifa given by a Philip Blumenfeld who was a police officer in the village of Botosani who fits the story well.
Any suggestions on how I might go about finding a copy of this testimony or anyone who could visit the University to check it out?
Thank you.
