Services for Ali Al-Saadoon, 32, assistant professor
of economics and a student at Central State College,
Edmond, who died Wednesday, will be at 3 p.m. Friday
at First Unitarian Church with burial in Edmond. Smith
& Kernke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Al-Saadoon, a native of Hai (Baghdad), Iraq, taught at
Central State College for two years. He came to CSC in
September of 1961. He was an instructor of social
studies and he taught until his death. He attended the
University of Texas, and the University of Illinois
before coming to CSC.

He was a member of the First Unitarian Church.

I am ralph's wife and would like more info on his family background as far as somebody know's. Raphael Kattula was born in Telkaif, Iraq his mother's name is: Hasena(Kyriakoza)Kattula his father's name was Toma Kattula/Mansoor. She still lives in Bagdad. I'm not too sure of some of the spelling's. Supposedly Ralph said that his gggfather's are from Europe area.

Looking for the MALCOLMs a Christian(I think) family.They were tailors in Baghdad, also had some orchards.Names so far, SATEN(orSATURN) b1879/80 ;NOOSH b.1891; SETRAK b.1886 . SATEN married ARAM MARTIN (Martirose) went to India, NOOSH (became LEMONJIAN) and SETRAK went to Australia. Looking for info on the parents of SATEN NOOSH and SATREK.or info of where to look .Also how did an Iraqi family have what appears to be a Scottish or Irish name?ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS??

Looking for Al-Sayegh or Dinno from Mossul

My grandfather came from Mossul to the US in 1913,and shortly there after changed his name. Neither my mom or her two sisters agree on the way his last name was spelled in Iraq(Al-Sayegh) They do agree however on how his Uncle Jack's last name was spelled,and that is Dinno.(Uncle Jack was my grandfather's mother's brother) He came to the states a few years before my grandfather. They were both from Mossul. My greatgrandfather was a silversmith in Mossul.My grandfather had two sisters named Bedur and Mariam who as far as I know stayed in Mossul.

If anyone has any connection to or info about this family please contact me.

Hello,

My ancestors were from the villages of Urmia, Persia. I have been told that they lived in Diza or Deza and Ardishai (sp?). Before residing in Persia they were from Assyrian villages in Iraq, but I don't know where.

They left Persia during the genocides during WWI era and came to Ellis Island, stayed in NY a short time and settled in Philadelphia. Eventually some made their way to California.

I am seeking family members for any of the following surnames so that we may exchange histories, recipes, and family photos, stories...

I am attempting to discover my ancestory. My father (Abdulkhalik Alfalah) is a Chaldean from Baghdad, Iraq and his father's name is Mansoor Hermiz Alfalah. He (Mansoor) was born in Iraq and died there in 1957 (?). My mother (Evelin Mirza)is Assyrian, also from Iraq, and her father's name is Mirza Basil. He lived in Turkey for some time, but I believe was born in Iraq and died there in 1968. I am fairly adept at navigating through websites, but I seem to have a little trouble with this. Is there any way you can help me?

I am researching my Great Grandfather Joseph Alkis, he was born in Baghdad, Iraq. I am finding nothing. He had a daughter named Diane born in 1924 in Conneticut, his wife (name unknown) died in childbirth. He served in World War I, I believe he was a member of the American Legion. He died in Palo Alto, California in the early 70's. If anyone has any information of how to research ancestors from Iraq please contact me. thank you
