Apparently a "Tay Hattam" went from Cornwall, England to Urmia sometime in the early-mid 1800's and settled in the Christian community in/around Urmia. Various of his descendants emigrated to the USA before and especially after World War 1.
First question is why go to Urmia from Cornwall? Would it have been a stopping off point in a longer journey, or a destination in itself?
Another question is whether anyone recognises names like Shakhi WARDA, Sanam LAZAR, Semreda SERGIUS, Babajan ASHOURI (although my spellings could be wrong here)
