I am searching for information on the families of and/or ancestry of Abdallah Ajami born in the early 1800’s in Damascus Syria. Abdallah Ajami controlled a lot of land worked by tenement farmers in Syria to grow silk worms. The business had been handed down and operated by the Ajami family for generations.
Abdallah was married twice. He had 13 children from the first marriage and 9 children from the second marriage. I am descended from George Ajami who was the oldest child of the second marriage.
Abdallah Ajami was a leader of the Orthodox Church in Syria. He was of such high position that he was invited to and attended the coronation of Nichols last Czar of Russia in 1894.
I have been told that the Ajami family were Persian royalty and fled Persia to avoid death, scattering across the globe. I am hoping that Abdallah having 22 children that there is someone out there that may have some information on this family.
