Looking for any relatives or information on the Shalitta or Pearah families from Urmia, Persia. Emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900's and settled in Philadelphia area. Benjamin and Abraham Shalitta (brothers) later brought their wives and children to the U.S. - Benjamin was in the Persian carpet business. Benjamin's oldest son Joseph (a.k.a. Jose Shalita) was in the entertainment business as a dancer and vaudevilian entertainer.

The Pearahs and Shalittas were Assyrian Christians and very involved with the Assyrian culture in Philadelphia.
