Certainly PIPERSKI (peeparskee) is from the Vojvodina region of Serbia. But Rebecca is not a name that would not typically be found there. Perhaps a bit more info would help identify your Rebecca.

1) was KEENAN from that area also?

2) did they immigrate to the US?

3) when did they immigrate (approximately)

4) where did they settle in the US?

Those immigrating through Ellis Is are coming from 2 areas one is Botos about 30 NE of Belgrade the others from Kikinda about 60 miles north.

The current online Serbia phone book lists PIPERSKI in Botos and Kikinda.

As far as the availablility of old microfim church records the LDS Church (Mormon) Family History Library will have them for the Roman Catholic Church at Kikinda. If interested, and if that is the place of origin for "Rebecca", you can order them for $3.50. Those records read like a family tree.

i dont know much my family split up after my grandma virginia died in 1971 (before i was born) she was the one that had all the
answers.she had 6 kids betty would be 78 today,walter 75, theodore 72, shreman 69(my dad),rebecca,66 & robert 63.
rebecca & melvin are believed to be in dolan springs calfornia
i have 2 old pics from 71 of there 2 girls becky & april i think ?
i was told are keenan name is from dublin.but thats all i know.
i found a lot of keenans but no one knows us & since i havent
found many pipersiks i thought i would have better luck.

I know that you said the person who had the answers is gone.

But do you know where Rebecca and Melvin lived? That may help identify one of those who came through Ellis Island as your Rebecca!

And judging by the ages of the children then I would assume that Rebecca must have been born around 1906 to 1908 or thereabouts. It would help to know her approximate birthdate or date of immigration or date of marraige to Melvin.

How is your Grandma Virginia related?

First you say that Rebecca PIPERSKI was born in Serbia.

Then you mention someone named Virginia who you say was your grandmother.

You really need to come up with some info before anyone can help!

1) Where did Rebecca and Melvin live? Not the one in Arizona, but I am asking about the one you said came from Serbia.

So you are really looking for someone named Melvin (and Rebecca) KEENAN? And you are not looking for the history of PIPERSKI?

Her mother was Virginia

I am April Piperski Rebecca is my mother she is still alive.
Your are correct on the break up of the family since my grandmother's death. Walter, and robert have died as far as we know. We heard from Walter's widow 5 or 6 yrs ago? maybe longer. I looked for family for years. Let me know i
may be able to fill in the blanks or at least some.
I know post is old only found today.
