Mansfield, Ohio - Josef "Joe" Tadijanac died January 21, 2018 after a 6-year battle with cancer from his home surrounded by his family. He was 84.

He was born March 24, 1933 in Sremska Mitrovica, Yugoslavia to parents Paul & Maria (Matochic) Tadijanac.
His family moved to Austria with his mother and brother to escape the war. They lived there 11 years before moving to the United States in 1955.

Joe proceeded to work for Charles Hoffman for 26 years as a sheet metal journeyman worker.

It was at the Mansfield Liederkranz that a beautiful young lady named Barbara Körner caught his eye and he worked up the courage to ask her to dance. After a night of dancing he told her he wanted to marry her. After she had gone back to Toronto, Canada she told him if he drove to get her she might reconsider. So, Joe got in his car and was there the next morning. Three weeks later, on June 26, 1965, they were married.

In younger years he enjoyed fishing, but more recently he enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Barbara Tadijanac of Mansfield, Ohio; sons Josef "Joey" Tadijanac and Tom & Kathy Tadijanac; grandchildren Christopher Tadijanac & Elizabeth Vincent, Kellie Tadijanac and Zachary & Morgan Tadijanac; great-grandson Ryan Clark; brother John Tadijanac; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers Steve Tadijanac and Paul Tadijanac.

Joe's family will receive friends Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Joe's life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Contributions in Joe's memory to Prostate Cancer Foundation may be made at the funeral home.
