Approx. 1850, a woman named Cristina Trincus, possibly of Yugoslav origin, married into my Italian Brun family.
She was born in what we were told was Yugoslavia, but the family apparently moved to Trieste, Italy; this is where my ancestor, my great great great grandfather, Angelo Brun, may have met and married her.
The Brun family was from Andreis, Italy, in the Northern area called Friuli-Guilia, but they had a "wood cutting" business near Trieste. We do not know what Cristina Trincus's family did while in the same city.
We were told that Trincus is the correct name, that Trinco, as we knew her from a family paper, was the Latinate version of that.
If anyone is familiar with the Trincus name, or can identify it as being Yugoslavian, or knows of either the Brun or Trincus family, please let me know.
We have lots of Brun family (now called Brunn) information, on those who went to the US, and a little bit about those who stayed in Italy, to share.
