My grandmother was from poltava, ukraine. Her surname was shibko. I don't know anything about her husband (NOT my dad's father) except that he perished in the war. I have learned that Klassen is a german name. Obviously she married him way before WWII. Her husband must have died between 1941 and 1944. (Was it odd for a ukrainian to marry a german during that era?) My paper work says she and her children (ages 10 and 14 then) went to germany and became "forced laborers".I don't have a camp name either. I do not believe she was in a concentration camp. I don't have a camp name either. She probably would have never survived long enough to have had my father. I also know that she was born in 1906.
As you can tell, I don't have too much information about her. It's very frustrating. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
