Hi folks. I am researching the ancestry profile of my great grand father, Ivan as above. His father was Jerston and his mother was Menica nee Bacinov. I believe they were wealthy cattle dealers. All was shattered in the mid 1880s (approximate guess) when Ivan's entire family were pogrom slaughtered. He fled to London and eventually New Zealand where he refused to speak of his terrible experiences again. He did it seems have one friend back in Elizabethgrad in 1908. That was Dr Manual Linetsky, Uspensky St, Elisabethgrad, South Russia.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who thinks they maybe able to help or who is related to Ivan or knows anything about his ancestors. I have hit a brick wall in researching further back than Ivan.
Thanks for listening. Ivan Joseph Tchernegovski (Melbourne, Australia)
