My father's family came from Uman. My grandfather's name was also Benjamin(Benya)Berkun, but he was very religious, and he and other men prayed at home. When WWII started, the family was evacuated to Sibiria; after the war, they came to Kharkov, they had 11 children, my father was the last one. They never were Gymnastics or some sort of Athletic trainers. One of my father's brother, the older ones, went to America in 1900s, married, with 2 children-one became a Dr.and another is the modern rabbi. They live in Bridgeport.
So, at this point, I don't know if we related or not.
