Well... very interesting... this is what my father writes:

I do not know the exact chain of relation but my father (Ben Berkun) had said they were cousins. Two brothers had a Nehi Bottling plant in Bridgeport, CT which was taken from them when 7UP New York wanted the territory. One son was a Rabbi in Pittsburg (Alvin Berkun) for many years. Recently he was head of the Rabinnical Assembly. Look him up. I have his card somewhere and he sends me regards from time to time from a convention. He may have a son who is a Rabbi. I visited the Bridgeport Soda plant many years ago, it was much smaller than ours. We've had no contact with them over the years.
