Potochyshche (in Ukrainian), has a population of 1490, and 633 homes. There are 3 Mateiko (in Ukrainian) listed in the phone directory. They may be cousins, as they all have different fathers' initial. The fathers' initial of the first listed is F., the second, A.., and the third D. It is possible that there may be 5 Mateiko families that live there. Not everyone can afford a phone, or have a reason to own one. My family live in a village next door to Potochyshche. Since I found them in 1996, I visit them almost every year. One of my cousins granddaughter married a boy from Potochyshche. His mother is a school teacher.
