I am trying to trace some family who i believe may be in or around villages in Sniatyn and Horodenka.

I have found some old letter sent from my Auntie Veronika (Vera) Kobewka. She spells the surname as Kobe'ko / Kobeko when transliterated from the Ukrainian alphabet. The last envelope (From Horodenka) has the post mark date as 1964. She refers to a Sela in a letter which i believe means village so i assume she did not live in one of the main towns or cities.

My Grandfather was called Wazyl Kobewka and was believed to be born in June 1920.

Please could someone let me know how to find any further information. I can not speak or read Ukrainian very well so trying to find a phone or residence directory is very difficult.
