The village of Polany was incorporated in to the Lemko Apostolic Administration in 1934. The first parish had been established back in 1533 and in 1690 during the time of o.Danylo Poljans'kyj additional property was donated. In 1728 St. Michael's church was destroyed. The wooden church was renovated in 1889 and in 1903.
