Hello!
I am looking for information on my grandfather's uncle Abram (son of David) Khinkis. Abram lived in Nikopol, Ukraine, after the War (don't know about before). We know he had two daughters, but we only know the first one's name...Anna.
Supposedly Anna never married, so she would have kept her last name. Unfortunately, she is probably not alive anymore.
Abram was over 90 years old in 1985, so he's long gone.
The other daughter was married, she possible emigrated to the US or Israel. Because we do not know her first OR last name, we are having a hard time finding her.
What would you suggest to someone like me?
I already called the ZAGS office in Nikopol but because I am not a close relative (and can't prove I am ANY kind of a relative by living in the US), they will not give me ANY information on Abram. They won't even tell me when he died.
The archives can't help me because he died less than 75 years ago and they don't have this information yet.
What else can I do? Contact Moscow for his War records to get an address or something?
I am so lost!
Thank you!
Julia
