Hello. My grandfather Franjo VRSIC was born in 1869 to Alois VERSIC/VRSIC and Aloisia CEH; he was born in Destrnik, Slovenia and died in Maribor. He was one of at least 4 children, including Johann born 1871 Destrnik, Theresa, and Agnes/Neza. There were possibly other siblings or near relatives: Naz, Anna, Nana, Anton. At the time of Alois and Aloisia marrying, the record reads that he was living at Locicberg no. 46. His parents: Georg VERSIC/VRSIC and Ursula MESAREC. The only parent listed for Aloisia was Agnes CEH.

I would very much like to hear from ANYONE who descends from a VERSIC, VRSIC, CEH, or MESAREC who lived anywhere hear the areas of Ptuj, Maribor, Destrnik - or anyone who knows someone who does. I would love to learn a little about your family line, who you descend from even if you do not recognize the names I listed above. Too, is there anyone out there who lives in or near the area of Destrnik, Ptuj, or Maribor who might be willing to look for some information at the Maribor Archdiocese Archives for me and/or in Destrnik itself? I ask this because I don't live in Slovenia and can't travel there anytime soon. I do not know what all records are available at the Archives in Maribor and what might actually be in Destrnik or a smaller city itself.
